For my first ever true guest mix, my good friend René a.k.a. Superexitos is taking over the show! René is someone whose music taste I really admire and love talking about music with. I asked them to do a guest spot almost immediately after Redux was conceived and gave total free reign over what they wanted to put together. I'm very grateful they agreed to produce an episode for me while I was travelling the last couple weeks <3 <3
This is my second ever collaborative episode, this time with my very close friend and roommate, Mick Rutowski. Mick plays guitar in everyone's favorite midwest powerviolence band, Felon Class. We have a shared love of the speedier subgenres of punk and we linked up to deliver 60 chaotic minutes of powerviolence, hardcore, crasher crust, grindcore, and some in-between stuff. I'm stoked to have fit so many sick bands into this mix and huge shout out to Mick for bringing their wealth of knowledge to the table to help me make this xx
something or other, still figuring it all out I guess.
Brumaire brings on friend of the show Doran to talk about their assessment of Muskegon's political and music scene. Doran is a Member of the Mollusks, a great goth rock band, give them a look!
Brumaire may get a bit too close for comfort in this one, as in a move of nothing short of nepotism, her own father appears on the show to discuss his experience organizing with the Muskegon Parks Coalition, among many other topics.
