How strange it is to be anything at all...
Happy Spring
redux and plusplus turn one ^_^ <3

This mix marks the one year birthday of both Contemporary Milk and Redux. It is a collaboration between myself and my dear friend Noah (Naphtha).
We created this mix together over the course of the last six months. I began by putting together an hour-long ableton file, full mostly of silence, interspersed with sections of sound assembled by editing and dubbing recordings and pieces of music from important places/people/moments from the past few years of my life.
Noah sent me back this completed mix a few months later, with the gaps filled in with “Laptop songs and voice memo recordings from time spent between Galway, Berlin, Ann Arbor, and Chicago.”
We thought of the mix as a way of keeping in touch; a sort of extended, asemic conversation. Free from the finality of syntactic communication and open for interpretation, remolding, processing, evolving.
Thank you for listening :)

We are joined by Porto-based designer and educator José Carneiro for a sonic exploration in the criss-cross between the playful and the ethereal.
His selection captures a unique ludic energy that feels embedded in the DNA of Wavecasting™ technology. This versatile mix moves through airiness and firm ground like a high-voltage sine wave across the oscilloscope of our proprietary equipment.
𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝔀𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝓫𝓮 𝓭𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽𝓮𝓭 !

Wavecasting 15 crawls out from the basement—confused, mostly. Sensitive to sunlight? Entirely. Crossing timelines? Back and forth, continually. You’re craning your neck into view of what could have been, while dim future-floaters scatterdance in asynchronous tandem across the ooey gooey of your wired eyes. In other words, the seventeen tracks of Wavecasting 15 blend three ((very)) recent) improvisations with tracks from the last three calendar years, resulting in an hour’s worth of unearthed material, as always, wavecast straight from the Social Compound.
